Are Hope Spring Fine Art eCards Representational or Abstract?
Currently, most of our fine art ecards are of representational art.
What’s representational art?
When you look at an artwork, the first thing that crosses your mind is how attractive or unattractive the art is. While some artwork simply expresses aesthetic beauty, other artworks aim to pass a message or represent real situations. The latter type of art is known as representational art.
Representational art represents objects or events in the real world, usually looking easily recognizable.
Representational art strives to depict reality. Because representational artists are creative individuals, however, their work need not look precisely like the object they are representing.
A representational art can be a human figure, a piece of fruit, a car, sheep in a field etc. The images, however, need not be true to life. Thus a car does not have to be red, or even with 4 doors, but it must clearly represent or be recognizable as a vehicle.
We currently have art ecards that depict some beautiful sights and ‘realities’ in the United Kingdom: The Morris Dancers High Town Hereford, The Narrowboat at Waltham Abbey, The Parish Walk Herefordshire, The Swans on River Wye, The Afternoon Tea in Hereford and The Fossil hunting Jurassic coast.
Soon, we will be introducing art ecards that are purely abstract and you can also be rest assured that we will increase the ecards collection in the representational category for there are many wonderful and beautiful sights and figures to represent in the United Kingdom specifically and the whole world at large.
